About the Author

A writer sitting at a table typing on a typewriter.

By day, Caitlin Albright is a technical writer living in the frosty northern state of Minnesota, USA. There, she spends her time reading, baking, gardening, weightlifting, kickboxing, and rabbit-holing down into stories about mythology, folklore, and other unusual topics that speak to the human psyche. She’s also a fan of Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Critical Role, and Dimension20.

But by night, Caitlin is a creative author.

A lifelong reader, she initially participated in online role-playing forums throughout her school years as an outlet for creative writing (she likes to refer to this as “writing boot camp”). It wasn’t until the end of her college years and beginning of her technical writing career, however, that she discovered National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), and began to take novel writing more seriously.

Participating in the challenge, along with taking creative writing courses to better her craft, led to several unpublished works, but only a few that she considered to be practice stories: projects taken from start to finish to gain experience and familiarize herself with the entire process of creating a book. Through this, she’s completed one short story, one novella, and one novel.

Soon enough, one of Caitlin’s short stories, “Catharsis”, was published by Flame Tree Press in their Witchcraft anthology, under the pen name Aveline Fletcher.

Currently, when she’s not aspiring to be a witch in a (spacious enough) cottage in the middle of the woods (that still has access to good internet), Caitlin is working on the first book of her new fantasy series.
